Get behind the helm and actually drive. Luka will show you the basics of manoeuvring, handling the boat in different conditions and what to be aware of on the open sea, the hands-on experience that makes everything else click into place.
Nautical chart reading
Understanding a nautical chart is one of the key parts of the Croatian boating exam. Luka will walk you through the essentials - how to read the chart, calculate distance and navigate safely along the coast.
Exam tips and key topics
Luka knows exactly what comes up in the exam, right-of-way rules, safety procedures, VHF radio basics and the weather patterns specific to the Adriatic. He'll make sure you're focused on what actually matters.

Boat Skipper Category B
The most popular licence for tourists and locals alike. It covers motorboats, sailboats and jet skis up to 18 metres with no horsepower limit. Once you have it, it's valid indefinitely.
The exam is entirely theoretical - oral questions only, no on-water driving test required. Contact the Vodice Harbour Master's office directly to confirm which languages are available for your preferred exam date.

- Safety, ropes and basic seamanship
- VHF radio procedures and Mayday protocol

Vodice has its own Harbour Master's branch office, and the exam can often be taken locally, the most convenient option if you're already here. Depending on availability and time of season, the exam may also be held at the main Harbour Master's office in Šibenik.

Sessions need to be booked in advance so we can prepare the boat and make sure Luka is ready for you. Two ways to book - both easy.
Come to Plava plaža
Find us on the beach and arrange your session in person. Tell us when you'd like to come, we'll check Luka's availability and you're all set.
Book online
Use the contact form to schedule a session. A €30 deposit via Revolut or bank transfer confirms your booking. Recommended if you're planning in July or August.
